Research interests
My research focuses on coastal processes and their management implications. I am interested in how coastlines change over time, both on the geologic time scale and in response to catastrophic events, and how this impacts the people who live near those shores. I am currently looking at a number of Pacific coastlines, including the Gold Coast on the east coast of Australia and Raglan on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. I have worked in the Philippines and the Northern Mariana Islands as well, and hope to continue supporting the island communities of that region. Closer to home, I am also researching barrier islands in Delaware Bay and along the Delmarva Atlantic coast.
